Daina is in charge of our Competition law practice and deals with merger notifications, assessment of vertical and horizontal cooperation agreements, dominant position in retail sector and state aid issues, as well as consults and represents clients in Latvian Competition Council. Apart from Competition law Daina works with general EU Law, M&A transactions, Labour law and Commercial law issues.
Daina also pursues an academic carrier and since 2005 is a lecturer in Baltic International Academy as well as from time to time acts in a capacity of the national expert in different EU Law and EU Competition law associated surveys and research projects.
Daina has graduated from the University of Latvia (Lawyer’s qualification) and subsequently has obtained a master’s degree (LL.M) with merit in International and European Law from Riga Graduate School of Law.
Daina also holds a postgraduate diploma in EC Competition law from King’s College London (Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law, 2009.)
Daina speaks and works in Latvian, Russian and English.
